With the exhibition "Women of Peace", Rossella Baldecchi is back in Fabriano ten years after her first time in the city of paper and her participation, in 2014, to the G.B. Salvi Prize in Sassoferrato.
Oil-painted or etched, Rossella's figures stand out against a monochrome, almost flat background, devoid of details that could divert attention from the message they want to convey. Faces of girls or young women often seem to question the observer with intense gazes; blooms, leaves and branches sprout from their slender bodies, populated by small animals; olive branches crown their faces, but just below, on ther necks, scars on the skin invoke peace and justice.
Shown in symbolic places such as the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, opposite to the A-Bomb Dome, Rossella Baldecchi's works shout to the world her urgency for peace, respect for human and women's rights.
The exhibition, inaugurated on August 31st, will remain open until September 29th. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 16:00 to 19:00; Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00.
