After the prestigious preview at Montecitorio building, inside the "Corridoio dei Busti", the fourth edition of the "Fabriano Paper Symphony 2025" exhibition will open on Saturday, October 25th at the Zona Conce museum in Fabriano (Ancona).
This important exhibition project enhances the universally recognized identity of the "City of Paper" through its many artistic creations. Visitors will be immersed in a narrative of wall works, sculptures, and installations created by 50 local artists using paper materials. Conceived and artistically curated by critic Giuseppe Salerno with the support of the Rete Italia association, the inauguration of the event will start with a a public presentation, held in the Council Chamber of the Palazzo del Podestà at 4:30 PM, along with the sponsoring institutional authorities.
At a later time, the exhibition opening will take place at Zona Conce, where visitors will be accompanied through the exhibition halls by dancers from the Tersicore Dance School, following the chorographies by Anna Riccioni, Rebecca Boccaccini, and Chiara Stazi. This site-specific event is designed to engage with the installations in the exhibition. The dancers will move like silent observers, blending in with the works, before emerging with simple, poetic gestures. Visitors will encounter 100 works produced from a variety of paper materials, created by local artists, artisans, designers, and enthusiasts. These three-dimensional creations, as is the exhibition's hallmark, feature paper products of all kinds. 3D wall works, sculptures and installations will be hosted in the three spaces of the exhibition spaces.
From October 25th to December 7th, the festival will be enriched with events organized with the collaboration of local associations and organizations. The program includes meetings with music, poetry, writing, film, and unusual techniques such as pyrography on paper, initiatives that explore paper, its potential uses, and its masters.
As Carifac'Arte President Alaimo Angelelli states, this exhibition is "a pride for us because, right within the Zona Conce spaces, in accordance with Carifac'Arte's mission to "revitalize and bring back to life the workshops of ancient crafts," there's the "Cartiera Aperta," a truly historic paper mill. Thanks to our "Mastro Cartaio", workshops are organized throughout the year where children and adults can watch paper being made according to the ancient Fabriano tradition, then experience the hand-made papermaking technique firsthand. This exhibition therefore goes in the same direction, promoting and highlighting the activities that brought prestige to this city through the revival of the ancient papermaking art of the past, a strong identity that must be preserved and passed on to new generations."
